CAMBIAS stands for “Cultural Awareness Moves Beyond Ignorance and Stereotypes” and is an Upper School club that meets every week. The group conducts discussions about social identifiers such as race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and class. The club highlights a different issue each month, and presents assemblies to educate the school community about multiculturalism and diversity. CAMBIAS members have opportunities to attend diversity conferences throughout the year and to network with students from other schools. The club presents “Harambee: A Celebration of Black History Month” or “Bias Awareness Day” in alternating years.
